Digital imaging day today…my favorite stuff! Loved getting on PhotoShop again. Created this collage. I admit, I dídn´t do anything fancy and (once again) I am blaming no time on this; however, I am confident in my PhotoShop capabilities so it was cool to have time to try some of this stuff out. I did not find the process difficult at all (it was more difficult to load this up to the blog!) but I didn´t spend too much time fooling around with it. I downloaded a few images of foods I like from the web. I cropped them all to the size I wanted first and dragged them in to a new PhotoShop file. Since they were all on different layers I could move and transform them until I was happy with how they looked. Then I added text! This is always a never ending process for me. I could pick put fonts all day long. But I had to stop and move on, so I picked two fonts, fooled around with colors and worked on the horizontal tracking to space out the characters. I flattened the image and saved it as a jpeg and here is the product! It is difficult to see the text, I could have spent more time on it I guess. Anyway…here are some of my favorite foods I eat here in Spain, can you tell what they are?

So I added some other effects to my blog that I think are cool. One is songspot and the other is flickr. Songspot streams in music from that site and flickr will randomly show photos from the page. I don´t have accounts with either of these (yet) but I think flickr will be most useful in my PhotoShop class. I think I will make a requirement for my class to post all of their images to flickr and have a blog explaining what they applied to each of their images. I don´t know. I don´t have a lot of time to explore now, BUT when comps, etc. are over I have tons of tools to work with and lots of ideas for application.

Welcome to my world! Starting to get the web 2.0 capabilities and necessity. Below is a google tour of the significant some (no where near all) of the places I have been from birth to India. I also learned what RSS feed is! I had never heard about this before and am glad I finally know how. Check out Canadian news (not as biased as US news, sorry American friends) and of course keep informed on the latest in celebrity news!

Wow, did I just type day 4! This goes so fast…
Saw part one of the nerds documentary which was so interesting. I gotta get this for my students – they would love it.
Gotta go work on my improvement plans (yes plans, one for the computer class and one for the advanced class)!

Monday, Monday….and actually feels like a Monday other than when Friday felt like a Monday last week.
Lots of time to work on our assignment which is great. I am not sure what else I should do with the blog at this point. Am getting bored with the look and the feel of it though, does that mean theme change? Perhaps. Today I had a refresher in software, learned about wikis which I think will be useful in my class. However, I want to go either with a blog or a wiki for the students as I don´t want them to have too many places to maintain. That is the never ending question in technology, who is the audience, what is the purpose and what would best serve them. But I got lots of tools to choose from!

Hardware refresher today. Learned lots of stuff. Fascinated with 3-D printing technologies. I also learned about active and passive matrix display monitors which I didn´t know before. Off to afternoon class……

Day one. It is 5:33pm and I am in the computer lab and slightly freaking out. I am stressed over having two classes although I know I will be fine and they will be worthwhile I am worried I won´t have the energy to do all of the work!
Nonetheless, I think I am ¨done¨picking a theme for my blog. It was very difficult for me, there are always things I am not happy with. I wish I could change the colors up top and could include pages for different blog subjects. But I still have a lot of exploring to do and I might find things out!
